Tatiana & Kyvory: An Avon Hill Lodge and Bruce's Barn Wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia
I first met Tatiana and Kyvory byway of a mutual friend. They were in search of a planner for their upcoming wedding and our friend steered them in my direction! After a few emails and information exchanging, we decided to meet for an ice cream date. (Pretty perfect, right?) We shared some scoops and talked all about their wedding dreams. Three words from that meeting rang all of the right bells and I knew they would forever have my planner heart.
What were they, you ask?
Wakanda. Barn. Fiesta!
Over the year of planning, we all grew to be close friends. I knew that celebrating with them would be easy and I love to say…I was absolutely right!
We planned a fusion wedding mixing their three keywords and the couples love all things bright, bold, and patterned. With the bride being from Santa Barbara, we decided to throw a fiesta flare in there for an added twist! What more could you ask for, really?
Their wedding was perfectly them in every way, shape, and form. Hand made pieces and contributions from family and friends were sprinkled throughout the day making everything all the more special. Tatiana’s mother hand wove both their flower girl and card baskets. She also hand dyed their silk table runners! Their personal flowers were beautifully done by Hedge Fine Blooms, but friends and family pitched in to create their reception flowers with blooms from Pharsalia Floral Farm.
All details aside, their ceremony was my personal favorite. I will even go so far as saying it’s one of the best I’ve ever witnessed to date. They called their wedding party their “inner circle” and had their ceremony chairs arranged in a circular arrangement to further emphasize their unity. It was important to them to create a bond that lasted well beyond their wedding day itself. To solidify their partnership, they honored four core values together during their ceremony: Curiosity, Unity, Authenticity, and Joy. They had readings by friends and family to ground each one and, in between, Tatiana and Kyvory laid the foundation of each by placing a puzzle piece together.
The most glorious of days ended inside of the newly built and beautifully done Bruce’s Barn— which is the legacy Bruce Teplitzky passed down to his two daughters, Sarah and Hannah. The barn itself was built with love and will continue to house the love stories of many couples to come. Tatiana and Kyvory were one of the first and I am so thankful to have been by their sides to celebrate at such a magical place!
The best of their days together are yet to come.
